D'oh!

Not quite Sora or Twilight Princess Link, Homer Simpson is not the sharpest tool in the shed. But I'm guessing he'll make a nice papercraft model for on my desk. ;o)

  1. Now that's definitely... totally... one very unexpected model!

Would be cool if he was holding a beer and a doughnut. Maybe even wearing a necktie like he does at work, while holding a doughnut and beer can LOL

  2. Haha yes, even I didn't see it coming until a few days ago... ;o)

I think I did disappoint a few people here and there, but I'll try to make it up to them when I finally make Sora/TP Link and all the other models I have in the planning. ;o)

  3. Yay, Homer rules! I'm happy you're gonna make a craft of him, I'd love to have a Simpsons craft in my room. Like Fezco asked, are you going to have him holding or doing anything? It'd be funny to have him holding a can of Duff and a donut.
So I guess we'll have to wait for the Link craft, that's cool, but I hope you do some work on him after you make Homer ;)

  4. I thought about that, but then I decided to make him kinda like one of those basic reference models, that shows the character in a basic pose, and only shows what makes Homer Homer (I know, Duff beer and donuts also make Homer ;o)

So that meant no "distracting" attributes (although reference models or model sheets do have those sometimes to show how the how character interacts with them).

I also tried to keep the model's pose very simple and symmetrical so it would look even more basic.

It's strange though; sometimes I need to think up entire stories to come up with a nice pose for my models, and this time I need an entire backstory to decide to not give him any real pose at all... ;o)

  5. That's cool, he'll look good anyway. Are you going to make him round or polygony? How tall will he be?

  6. Right now, I'm leaning more towards making him a "smooth look model". I haven't decided on his size yet, but I'm thinking 15-20 cm or something like that. I don't want to make him too small, but not too big either for such a basic model... ;o)
