The
GTD Galatea was an Orion-class destroyer spaceship from the 1998
"FreeSpace" video game.

Hey. This is awesome! Do you have any other Freespace papercraft? I seem to remember a GTF Apollo and a GTF Hercules, but I can't find them anywhere.
ReplyDeleteI haven't made any Freespace papercrafts myself, sorry; luckily the one in the post above still seems to be available but was made by somebody else.
ReplyDeleteI can only do a quick online search for the other two you mention atm, and I'm afraid it seems at least the Apollo one was at one point uploaded to the Pepakura Gallery (https://tamasoft.co.jp/pepakura_designer/pepakura-gallery/details.php?id=105), but that suffered a big crash some years ago, so unfortunately a lot of those papercrafts were lost...
I'm sorry that I can't really help you, but I hope you'll enjoy the Galatea!
No worries. Thanks very much for looking. I couldn't find anything either. I had a look at the Pepakura Gallery link and it doesn't work. I may actually have downloaded the Apollo and the Hercules a long time ago. I'll check through some of my old drives. Once again, thanks very much. Love your site.
DeleteHey. I found a page with the Hercules and also an Athena bomber. It also has a great collection of Star Wars and Star Trek models. It's through the Wayback Machine. All links work. Some of them you have to repair the download link, but I managed to download every link on this page. Thought you might like to add it to your site. Enjoy.

I didn't remember they were made by Péricles! I'm happy that you were able to find the working download links using the WayBack Machine and then copy/pasting the found Mediafire links to the address bar!
DeleteI also remembered that found that Péricles made another papercraft site for the Wing Commander video games but I think somehow I never featured them on my blog here... I found out that it does still work, so I decided to feature it now: https://ninjatoes.blogspot.com/2024/03/pericles-wing-commander-papercrafts.html
It was good that you didn't give up as you can see! :o) Have fun building!
Thanks very much. It was a bit of luck that I found a link to an old Pepakura gallery. I managed to find Pericles's old site. Then it was just a bit of experimenting and perseverance to get all the links to download.
DeleteI managed to find the GTF Apollo today. I searched on the old Pepakura gallery. It was ID 00105. I clicked on the Details tab at the bottom, and the zip file downloaded.

The Hercules was there too. ID 00102. That downloaded fine as well. Now I'm going to go through the whole site to see what other treasures I can find.

That's great to hear! It doesn't always work, but the Wayback Machine is a great tool for papercrafters! :o)
DeleteHey. I found the GTF Apollo today. Through the Wayback Machine searching the old Pepakura pages. This download still works.
