Saint Patrick used a shamrock clover to teach the Irish about Christianity and the Holy Trinity, and so the colour green and the shamrock itself (and the Irish leprechaun) have become inseparably linked to the celebration of "St. Patrick's Day" each year! (I don't know how Betty Boop fits in, though...? ;o)
