Because manned space missions are much more complicated, it's much safer to send unmanned exploration vehicles to other planets🌍 (or the Moon🌑).

ReplyDeleteUnfortutely, the http://www.shetlandastrosoc.org.uk/ website seems to be gone completely, but apparantly in 2013 they had moved their website to the servers of some of the Shetland Astronomical Society enthustiasts where you can still get the card models now: http://www.macastrofix.info/?q=node/17 :o)

ReplyDeleteI think the Web Archive saved the pages (like https://web.archive.org/web/20191123025702/http://macastrofix.info/?q=node/21#overlay-context=, but not the pdf files unfortunately… They are separate URLs (to the files) which weren't crawled when the site was live I guess...
DeleteYou can try the "Macastrofix" Gmail address (I found it using the "You can contact us here" link in the bottom right of the homepage here), but because it's been 15 years ago, chances are very slim you'll get a response, sorry! :o(
