I really like the simple "classic" Mario colours (well, the real classic colours are red overalls on a blue shirt of course... ;o) as opposed to the new, more realistic denim look.
Still, to make Mario look even more "classic", he really needed to hike up his overalls a little higher, and to pull his sleeves down.
They're small changes, but I think they're worth it!
Stay tuned!
ah, that's better. Is that mario edited completely apart from the head and hands?
ReplyDeleteI like it too! And the classic look!
ReplyDeleteAny chance of a luigi too? like a recolour?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you guys like it!
ReplyDeleteI did do a lot of work already on Mario's body, but it's never really final until it's released of course; I often have to change things when it turns out it works better differently... ;o)
But yeah, the next thing to do is the head I think. ;o)
I might do a Luigi too in the future, but I think he's too different from Mario to be a simple recolour - and I'll probably want to put him in a different pose anyway. ;o)
ReplyDeleteYou should do Luigi too make a set!
ReplyDeleteLuigi would be a nice addition to Mario of course, so there's a good chance that I will make a paper Luigi too in the future.
ReplyDeleteRight now, though, I'll only make Mario, but when I make Luigi, I will definately make him the same scale. ;o)
"red overalls on a blue shirt"
ReplyDeleteIsn't it the other way?
Blue overalls on a red shirt is the way most people know Mario, but originally, in his first game "Donkey Kong", he wore red overalls on a blue shirt, so that's really his "classic look".
ReplyDeleteSince Mario Bros. though, it was changed around, and (with one or two exceptions) that's the way he has looked ever since, so I decided to use that more iconic colour scheme! ;o)
If you want to see what Mario looked like in all the games he appeared in, here's a nice overview: link
