a (papercraft ;o) Dutch windmill in Bangladesh!

And now, for something completely a little bit different: I decided to share a little video of my visit to the Zaanse Schans last year during my summer vacation.

Why? Because I'm happy that I can update everybody about the Zaanse Schans papercraft windmill giveaway that I did in June: 😃

You already knew that the winner was du.urmi: she lives in Bangladesh so it took a while for the prize to reach her but this week she could let me know that it finally arrived! 👍

She and her little sister were very excited and they already started working on it. They still had to do the part that makes it a windmill of course as you can see:

I think so far it is looking great and I hope they'll have lots of fun together finishing their papercraft windmill!

Stay tuned for new giveways and lots of free papercrafts that you can download yourself; have fun!

free papercraft windmill giveaway winner!

For my June 2024 giveaway, I received 10 entries so I think everybody had a pretty good chance of winning! 😉
...and I could use D20's slightly less famous 10-sided cousin (and a spooky dice tower 🎲) to randomly pick a winner! 👍

That winner turned out to be du.urmi who I'll be contacting shortly to ask for their shipping information to send the prize!

I hope everybody had fun and that du.urmi will enjoy the prize! Stay tuned for new papercrafts and new giveaways in the future!

Have fun!

free papercraft windmill giveaway! (deadline June 14th, 2024)

One of my trips during last year's summer break was to the open air museum the Zaanse Schans in the Netherlands. Because my last free giveaway was so long ago, I want to do a new one of a papercraft windmill I got there! (because I'm Dutch, sawmills are cool and I love papercraft).

The Zaanse Schans is one of the oldest industrial areas in Europe: all wind powered of course (long before steam power revolutioned industrial fabrication). There are only a few windmills left, including "Het Jonge Schaap", a sawmill which I though was the coolest one. 😊
(and if you don't agree then I guess you'll just have to visit the Zaanse Schans yourself and get a papercraft of one of the other ones? 😉)

The kit was made by STRM and it's not very big (three sheets folded to 14 cm by 29,5 cm) so I can send it all over the world in a strong cardboard envelope so that it won't bend. Assembled, it's about 16 cm by 28 cm wide and about 16 cm tall and you'll probably finish it in an evening or afternoon with ease. 👍

The Giveaway:
  1. The giveaway is open to anyone from anywhere around the world!
  2. To enter, just leave your name and email address in the Google Form below.
  3. The deadline is June 14, 2024.
  4. Once the deadline has passed, I'll draw one random winner and then contact that person for their shipping information (I will pay for shipping myself so don't worry about that).

IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you're underage, make sure to ask a parent or guardian first if it's okay to share that information for this giveaway!

That's all you have to do really: good luck and have fun! 👍

Efteling Hansel and Gretel papercraft giveaway wrap up

Almost a month ago, Paola was picked the winner for the Efteling Hansel and Gretel papercraft giveaway that I did towards the end of June! 😀

She was happy to have won, and quickly sent me her postal address, so  I could send her her prize. Paola lives in Italy, and since I am from the Netherlands, this time the prize didn't have to travel to the other side of the world, just to southern Europe.

It took the postal  services a little longer than their website originally promised, but last Monday, Paola received her prize and the little extras I included:

  • Of course I used a strong, sturdy envelope to send the prize so that the papers wouldn't bend.
  • I wrote a letter congratulating Paola again on winning the giveaway, and some pictures of the papercraft Hansel and Gretel House to help her build it (although it's really not a very difficult model).
  • Of course I added the papercraft kit. 😜
  • I made a card of the actual design sketch that the artist Anton Pieck made of the Hansel and Gretel house made for the Efteling (it turned out pretty accurate in the end I think! 🙂).
  • I added a "golden" Efteling coin that you can get from the "Donkey lift your tail" in the Fairytale Forest as a memento of your visit to the Efteling.
  • An Efteling park map so Paola won't get lost if she wants to visit the Efteling herself! (you can see an online version too here: link)
Here's a close up picture of the gold coin, and a video of how you can get one:

(note: the girl in the video is not me and it's also not Paola 😋)

I hope Paola likes her prize and enjoys building hansel and Gretel's candy house! (and maybe some day gets to have a great day at the Efteling herself 😀)

Have fun!

July 2023 Efteling Hansel and Gretel papercraft candy house giveaway winner!

Yesterday was the closing date to participate in my July 2023 Efteling Hansel and Gretel papercraft candy house giveaway - so today I decided on a winner! 🎉

There were nine entries this time, so everybody had a good chance of winning...! 😀

But in the end it turned out to be Paola:

So now I will contact her using the email she left in the entry form for the giveaway so I can send her the prize. 🙂

Stay tuned for new papercrafts (and new givaways), have fun!

Efteling Hansel and Gretel papercraft giveaway! (deadline July 14th, 2023)

The Efteling is the biggest amusement park in the Netherlands, and probably most dutch people will have visited it at least once in their lifetime with their parents or on a school trip. 😀

For older kids and adults, there are exciting story-themed rollercoasters 🎢 and other attractions, but once upon a time, the Efteling started as just a Fairytale Forest 🍂🍄 with a few attractions about the old fairy tales written down by famous writers like Hans Christian Andersen, Charles Perrault, and the Brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm.

One of the fairytales featured there is of course the famous story of Hansel and Gretel, who find a strange house made of delicious candy after being left in the forest by their parents who could not take care of them anymore...

In the Efteling, the witch that turns out to live there is on her guard (having just captured Hansel and Gretel as you can see...) and whenever her black cat spots any new visitors at the garden fence, she checks at the door to ask "who's knibbling on her home!"

So maybe it's better to leave her alone and continue on to the next fairytale if you don't want to end up like poor Hansel and Gretel... (spoiler: they do escape in the end 😉)

The Fairytale Forest 🍂🍄 is the original heart of the Efteling and the visual style was created by the artist Anton Pieck. Basically, because of the Efteling, for dutch children this is what houses and castles in fairytale forests look like!

The Giveaway

I'm giving away the official Efteling papercraft of the Hansel and Gretel house from 2008 (there were a few others in this official papercraft series, but I couldn't find them so easily, sorry!)

If you want a chance to make your own piece of the Efteling's Fairytale Forest
  • Simply enter your emailadress in the Google Form below before 23:59 CET (Central European Time) July 14th, 2023. That's all. 😊
  1. After the deadline I will randomly draw a winner and contact them through the emailadress they left (so make sure it's correct!)
  2. This is a physical papercraft (I will NOT scan it!) so make sure you're okay with telling me a physical address where I can send your prize if you're the lucky winner (if you're underage, ask your guardians if it's okay first!)
  3. Anybody can enter this no matter where you live! 🌎📬
  4. This is a free giveaway just for fun: I will pay the shipping costs myself (if there are any custom fees or anything like that, let me know and I will take care of those as well 👍)
NOTE: Unfortunately, the coupons on the papercraft for entering the Efteling are not valid anymore - but go visit anyway if you get the chance! 😉

Have fun and good luck!

This giveaway ended July 14th 2023, sorry!
Stay tuned for the next free giveaway! 😀

Final Minecraft Papercraft Kit giveaway wrap-up :o)

So I had hoped to post this map almost a year ago, but I'm happy to say that now then I can finally wrap up my Minecraft papercraft kits giveaway! 🙂

As you can see on the map the three first winners came from the USA, Mexico and Indonesia. They had already gotten their prizes after the original giveaway almost a year ago and a new fourth winner from Japan this time received their prize without problems too this weekend after the replacement draw earlier this month!

I like how the papercraft prizes travelled all over the world again 🌎 just like with my first giveaway!
I'm happy that in the end all four papercraft Minecraft kits got to the lucky winners and hopefully they had some fun playing around with them! 🙂

(I'm already thinking about doing another small papercraft giveaway soon so stay tuned! 😉)

Thank you to everybody that participated in the giveway (or that just likes to visit my blog to find papercrafts to make of course 🙂); have fun!

May 2023 Minecraft Hostile Mobs papercraft kit giveaway result

The winner this time was Hiroshi, who I will contact soon to ask where I may send the prize! 📬

Maybe next time you will be the lucky winner? Have fun!

free Minecraft papercraft giveaway again (deadline May 31, 2023)

Almost a year ago now, I did a free Minecraft papercraft giveaway with four winners! 🥳

Three of them have long gotten their prize already, but unfortunately the fourth winner never responded to several attempts of me asking to send me their shipping address... 😟

After a while I have to admit I kinda forgot about it, but I came across the kit again recently that I still have of course, so let's try again! Here's the contest:

Leave your e-mail address in the Google form below:
(this giveaway has ended, sorry!)

That's it. That's all you have to do to enter this giveaway.
  • Deadline will be May 31st.
  • Then I will draw a random winner again and contact them using the emailaddress you leave to ask for the shipping information* to send the winner their prize.
  • Everybody can enter the giveaway, from any country
  • I will pay for shipping and any  customs/tax costs in your country.
* NOTE: this is a PHYSICAL papercraft kit, so make sure you are okay with sending me a physical shipping address to send the prize to, and if you are under age, make sure you have permission to do so from your parents or guardians!

Have fun and good luck!

The Papercraft Minecraft Kit Giveaway Winners!

You guys know I'm "a bit" weird, right...?

If you've been following my papercrafts updates on my blog here or on Twitter, then you know yesterday was the last day to enter my free Papercraft Minecraft Kit Giveaway!

There were 27 unique entries in the end, and I had to decide the winners in a fair and impartial way. I had only one choice of course: I *had* to get a bingo mill! 😋

Watch the draw of the winners here:

I hope that this way everybody will agree that there was no funny business deciding the winners! 😉

I made a list of all 27 unique entries using the Google entry Form, and I did 4 draws for each of the 4 kits; then I simply matched the results of the draw to the entries on the list:
  • Snow Biome kit 🧊: A-15
  • Hostile Mobs kit 🙅: B-  2
  • Animal Mobs kit 🐖: C-  4
  • Utility Pack kit 🪑:   D-10
Now I realize that won't mean much to you, but not everybody wants their name on the internet, so I'm keeping everybody's information private here.

I'll match up the numbers with the names on the entries list though, and  contact each of the winners by the email they left to asking for their shipping address. Then once I heard back from them, I'll get the packages ready and send the winners their prize as soon as I can! 😀

I'm sorry if you didn't win this time, but I hope you had fun at least for the chance.
For now, congratulations to the winners and I hope everybody had fun; keep papercrafting! 🎉

Finally sending out the NISSIN Cisco Tomica giveaway prizes to the winners - with some Dutch icon stamps to go with them ;o)

Unfortunately, last week was so busy, tha tI didn't get around to sending out the prizes for the NISSIN Cisco Tomica cookie boxes papercraft giveaway. 😟 I'm sorry to have kept you waitingf or so long, but  as you can see, I've prepared the packages to send them out tomorow through the post office!

Also, two people still haven't gotten back to me yet to tell me where the packages should be sent! 😟 I'll sve themfor you though, should I hear frrom you in the future.

Speaking off which, I made this fun little map showing  where the packages wil be going! (just the countries of course, not the exact addreesses. 😉

  • Funny enough, only one of them is staying in Europe (Germany) as you can see;
  • Most ofc them are going to the americas: USA and South America;
  • Two are going to the island of Java in Indonesia;
  • and oneto the most southern country of the African continent, South-Africa.

  • Delivery times
Also, as you can see, I'm sending them as regular letter post, which is a lot cheaper for me, so I hope you understand this decision.

Because of this though, I won't be be able to provide a track-and-trace number to follow the packages in transit, sorry. Butt I hope all the information was correct end that I addresssed all of them correctly.

The postal service gives these estimated delivery times fore each country, so I hope your prizes will arrive within thesetime frames:

  • Germany: 2 - 4 business days
  • USA: 4 - 8 business days
  • Indonesia: 5 - 10 business days
  • Chile: 5 - 10 business days
  • Argentina: 6 - 10 business days
  • South Africa: 6-10  business days
  • Clombia: 7 - 14 business days

I hope you can be a patient a little while longer and that you will enjoy your prizes even though the papercraft cars themselves are pretty simple of course.

  • Who uses stamps anymore??
I haven't used stamps for a long time actually, because it's much easier to pay thepostage online and automatically make a shipping label to stick onto  your parcal at the same time.

But this time, I decided to use real stamps, with special images from The Netherlands since if you happen to like getting stamps from other countries, I figured it might be a rare opportunity nowadays to get some from The Netherlands.
(btw, did you know you used to have to lick the stamps to stick them onto your letter/parcel? It tasted really horrible... 😖, but they were a bit easier to soak off the envelope in water (after taking out the letter or item you ordered of cours!) These self-sticking ones will come off too in a bowl of water though, if you take your time (make sure the sticky layer has really let go from the back of the stamp stamp (rub carefully with your finger if it hasn't) so it won't stick if you put it in a book between some thick tissue paper to dry flat and straight)

I got the standardinternational Dutch stamps, showing 5 diferent icons of the Netherlands (since the envelopes only needed 3 stamps, you'll get three of them of course). But of course I head to check ! Are the fetured designs really typically Dutch?

  1. Well the first stamp features a windmill. which yes, is pretty typically Dutch. 😉
  2. The second one is a bicycle, and as you probably know, in the Netherlands we do ride bicycles a lot: there are more bicycles than people in The Netherlands, which is probably true: in my case for example, every family member has their own bicycle, ánd then there's the extra "family back-up bike" in case one breaks and it can't be fixed right away. 🚴
  3. THethird stamp features a cow, probably the famous black-and white Frisian ones that are DUtch in originand that give the most milk of any dairy animal in the world, so that we can make lots and lots of cheese! 🐄🧀
  4. Canal houses: the most famous canal houses are in Amsterdam, but there are very beautiful examplesin otherr cities as well!
  5. Tulips: the Netherlands are also famous for the huge, colorful fields of flowers each year, the most famous ones are probably the tulips. 🌷

so with that, i guess my first giveaway is rally in the final stage and wil be really over soon. It was pretty fun for me, and I hope to do some more giveaways in the future, probably with some bigger (well, a little bit bigger) and of course, I'll keep making my own papercraftsfor hopefully along time to come, and share theonesI find for free online, so stay tuned! 😊

Let me know if you haven't heard from me if you participated in the NISSIN Cisco Tomica papercraft giveaway in February!

I have been trying to contact the prize winners of the Nissin Cisco Tomica milk biscuit boxes, and I've heard back from almost everybody now:

If you participated in
in February but haven't receieved an email from me, please contact me! 👍

So, originally, I got twelve NISSIN Cisco Tomica milk biscuit cookie boxes, which all have a cute free papercraft car on the packaging. There are six different designs of them, and I actually got a complete set (that I wanted to keep myself to be honest... 😋) already in that one go! 🚓🚑🚒🚚🚖🚘

And I figured, why not give the other ones away, just for fun? 😀

I had three of the ambulance design ones, so I put one together quickly to show what the papercrafts looked like, and how you could put them together without needing a knife or scissors or glue like you normally would with papercrafts you download from the internet (like my own 😉)

(that one unfortunately actually got damaged a bit: you have to be careful pushing the parts from the packaging!)

So I created this giveaway to originally choose 5 people to send them one of the extra cookie boxes with the papercraft I had:

After a while though, 7 people responded and I felt kinda bad that two of them would be left out... Luckily, the cookies tasted really good, so I decided to get more! 😉

I got eight extra boxes, thinking it would be more enough since not many people responded in the giveaway. In the end, it was - just barely...

With one full set of six boxes I wanted to keep myself and the one I made (and damaged... 😕) to show as an example, the 20 boxes I had in the end were just enough to give away one to each of the 13 people that participated in the giveaway in the end!

The past few weeks I've been trying to contact everyone by email to ask for their address to send them their prize, and I heard back from almost everybody* now.

I was actually hoping to send out the boxes this week, but I'm afraid that I've been so busy that I'm a little behind on things I've been planning to do, sorry...! :o(

And I have to get more stamps

Like a lot more stamps...

I'll do my extra best to make it happen coming week though, and of course I'll let all of you know when the papercrafts finally get sent out, so please stay tuned! 👍

And please: I hope making everybody a winner doesn't make it feel less special. I really enjoyed making this little giveaway and even though the papercraft cars are really kinda simple of course, I hope you all have a little fun too! 🙂

Free NISSIN Cisco Tomica milk biscuits papercraft cars giveway! (this giveaway ended on February 28, 2022)

Last few hours to participate the free giveway! 😀

(Leave your email in the Google Form at the bottom of this post!)

So I got my hand on these NISSIN Cisco Tomica milk biscuits boxes. 🍪😋

They're basically cookie snacks for kids (they even have little Tomica cars printed on the biscuits 😊). But what makes it even better, is that they've got papercraft cars on the packaging! As you can see, they're very simple, but cute.

There are six different kinds:
🚘 a sports car
🚒 a fire truck
🚚 a regular truck
🚑 an ambulance
🚖 a taxi
🚔 a police car
  • The boxes are made out of thin carton and the cookies are in a foil bag, so the (blank) inside of the papercrafts won't be stained or anything. 🙂
  • The papercraft parts are pre-punched, so if you're careful enough, you can push them from the packaging without needing a knife or scissors.
  • You also don't need any glue either to put the papercrafts together either! 😀

The giveaway

Take Note!
  • I will give away the 5 NISSIN Cisco Tomica boxes that I have double (unfortunately, I don't have the police car double...)
  • I will send the physical box:
    • I will carefully take the box apart so it will fit through a regular letterbox (the folded boxes are about 17 cm x 22 cm / about 7" by 9")
    • I am willing to send them anywhere possible through the mail from The Netherlands (where I live)
    • I will take care of postage (I don't think there should be any additional costs for you receiving a letter from another country like The Netherlands, but if you know that there will be, please let me know this beforehand!)
    • You will need to provide a valid e-mail address so I can contact you if you are the lucky winner!
    • If you are the winner, I will use the email address you will have to provide and ask you for your address or P.O. box to send the box with the papercraft

I will not:
  • I will not include the cookies (they are very tasty and will be eaten by myself 😋)
  • I will not send scans (sorry!)

How to participate
  • I have set up a Google Form to ask you for your name and email address
  • When I have a decent number of responses*, I will randomly pick 5 lucky winners
  • Each lucky winner will get 1 random NISSIN Cisco Tomica milk biscuits box with a papercraft

* UPDATE: There really haven't been very many responses (I guess that's good news for the people that *did* enter 😉). I decided to set the deadline for the end of them month, February 28th, after which I might be contacting you if you are one of the winners, so stay tuned! 😉
