One of the reasons that people really like the Typ 1 Volkswagen van, is that you can so easily customize it! (into a snowcat, for example)
Fred Bernhard put in an air-cooled, Porsche 993 Turbo engine in his Volkswagen van, and reduced the weight with carbon fiber so it could go 230 km/h (143 mph)...!
