Using this 2007 Flash game, you used to be able to print your own Disney Pixar's "Finding Nemo" Nemo, Bruce, Flo, Squirt, Bloat, Sheldon, Tad and Dory papercraft toys (and even change the colors to different ones if you wanted to!) 🐠🐟😃
But unfortunately, on December 31st, 2020, Flash technology support has been completely discontinued, so no website will work with any Flash game like this anymore...
Luckily, in some cases (like this one! 😀) there ways to download the Flash application itself and get it to run by itself on your computer. I included a visual guide and the steps below:
Visual guide on how to download and convert the Finding Nemo Paper Toys Flash game |
Text guide:
- First you need to find the URL to the actual Flash application on the website so you can save it to your own computer:
- Go to the Dan Dare website: link and press Ctrl+U to view the website's actual HTML source code (in Google Chrome at least; other webbrowsers should have a similar option).
- Press Ctrl+F and search the source code for the mention of .swf (the file extension for a ShockWave Flash file).
- It will find two instances, in this case the second one will be the link to the actual file; click it and save the .swf file to your computer.
- Now go to https://www.bullrushsoft.com/online.html; it can convert the .swf file to a standalone executable .exe file that you can run offline on your computer.
- Upload the .swf file you downloaded from the Dan Dare website, and after it's converted, use the small download button that appears at the bottom to download the .exe file to your computer.
- Now annoyingly, because the developer of the online tool is unknown to my Antivirus software and to Windows Defender, both off them stopped me from running the .exe file at first.
- Antivirus solution: for my Antivirus software, I made a special Folder with the .exe file and set my Antivirus software to exclude it from its scans.
- ONLY do this if YOU trust the application too, and NEVER turn off your antivirus software completely!!
- Windows Defender solution: you can click the "More info" link to see a "Run anyway" option" (ONLY do this if YOU trust the application!!)
- TIP: "print" the paper toys as a PDF file, so you can always print them again whenever you want without having to go through all this again. 😇
Have fun building!

ReplyDeleteAlthough the PBS Kids Play site seems to be gone, the alternative links still seem to work. Try one of those, like: http://www.dan-dare.org/FreeFun/Games/CartoonsMoviesTV/FindingNemo5.htm

Halo all this link ia gone...please send me papercraft Nemo, thanks
ReplyDeleteHello! These papercraft toys were distributed using a Flash application: although Flash support on almost all webbrowsers was discontinued on December 31, 2020, I updated the blogpost with a guide (visual and text) explaining how you can:
Delete- Download the Flash game from the Dan Dare website (.swf file)
- Convert the .swf Flash game to a standalone .exe file so you can run it on your computer
- Work around the Antivirus software and Windows Defender issues becaus they don't know the developer of the .exe file (only do this if YOU trust the file as well!)
If you're having trouble with the steps, ask your parents or a friend who's a bit more knowledgeable with computers to help you.
Have a look at the updated post, I hope I explained everything well and that it works for you, have fun building!
