Choosing the visor colours

I'm trying to match the colour of the transparant visor to the real thing as best I can, but even so, the printed version will always be a bit matte of course...

To really get the "neon-green" shine of the real LEGO M:Tron visors and cockpits, you'd need to find some neon-green transparancies and trace the parts outlines onto them instead of printing them.

Because you can't really pre-shape plastic like you can paper to get the tension out of the sheets, you'll need some good glue to keep all the curved parts of the transparant visor glued together, but I think the result will look very nice! ;o)

Stay tuned!

  1. I think you should stay opaque , because , transparent will be very hard to do in plastic

  2. You're right, the visor will definately be more difficult to make in plastic, because it will want to come apart again...!

I'll include the coloured (bright green) parts on the last page of the templates, so you can always choose to print them on regular cardstock instead of transparant sheets to make an opaque visor.

If you do want to print them on transparant sheets, you'll need special, printable transparancies, or you'll wipe the ink right off! ;o)

Alternatively, you can trace the parts on a coloured plastic sheet with a magic marker, so you don't have to worry about the ink wiping off, but it'll be hard to glue together without some very good glue...!
