The Gunma Astronomical Observatory was built for astronomical research and is also open to the public on set times, to give space enthusiasts the opportunity to see the night skies through a professional telescope and learn more about the universe.
Its main telescope has a 150 cm refelector and a range of observational instruments, like an Echelle spectrograph, an infrared camera, a low resolution spectrograph and imager and a CCD camera.
