Tsujun Bridge is actually part of a stone aquaduct built in 1850 to bring water to the Shiroito Plateau.
Because the aquaduct collects sands and dirt from the water flowing through it, it has to be flushed every now and then, discharging into the river below. Very smart! 🌊
