You might know the ancient mathematician Pythagoras from his famous a^2+b^2=c^2 theorem to calculate the lengths of the sides of a right triangle? (or at least I hope you do! 😉)
In 1942, it inspired Dutch mathematics teacher Albert E. Bosman, to come up with the Pythagoras Tree fractal, an endlessly repeating geometrical pattern.
And in 2024, it inspired Dutch Wiskunstelaar to share a free papercraft of a 3D pythagoras tree that you can build together with your math class! 👍
