Linebeck papercraft WIP 8

So far so good! Linebeck's head went together pretty well, although I do think I will make the final version a little bit bigger (also depending on how big the rest of him ends up being ;o)

There are a few things I'll change (edit some polygons, de-pixelate some textures, switch around some of the glueing tabs...)

I may do that now, or wait until I've test built the rest of him. ;o)

Stay tuned!

Linebeck papercraft WIP 7

This is the first unfold to do a test build of Linebeck. I'm not expecting a lot of trouble, but you never know. ;o)

And while actually folding the model in your hands, you can often still find some parts that don't look so logical to build anymore as when you were staring at them on a 2D computer screen... ;o)

Stay tuned!

Linebeck papercraft WIP 6

Back to working on Linebeck!

I created some simple 2.5D hands, that look a bit more detailed than the original "clumps", but aren't a lot more complicated than the rest of the model, since that wouldn't look very good together, I think.

This way, there's a better balance. I haven't decided yet whether I'll use the "clump" hands or these "2.5D" hands; I'll test build both options, so I can see which one looks best in paper.

(and of course, the LEGO Pirates treasure map needs to be changed to a Zelda sea chart, but that's something to do in Photoshop ;o)

Stay tuned!

Halloween 2011 glow-in-the-dark LEGO Ghost papercraft release!

Yes, yes, I know it's not Halloween yet... ;o)

But this way, you'll have plenty of time to hunt down some glow-in-the-dark paper / Nachtleuchtpapier and build this papercraft LEGO Ghost! ;o)
Have fun building, and happy Halloween!

Linebeck papercraft WIP 5

Another small Linebeck update!

I used a standard solution to fix Linebeck's "floating shoulders" problem. This way, they'll be attached to Linebeck's torso properly in the paper model. ;o)

Before I'll unfold the model in Pepakura Designer to test build it, I'll make the "flat" versions of the hands as well, so I can test both options.

Stay tuned!

Linebeck papercraft WIP 4

Originally, Linebeck's head was just placed directly on his torso. In a virtual game world, that's fine, but in a paper model, you need a better way to connect them and glue them together! ;o)

Because of the strange angle, it's a bit difficult to see, but the original Linebeck head had kind of a star-shaped bottom, with all kinds of folds coming together in the same, narrow spot...

That wouldn't be a very logical way to build it out of paper I think, so I decided to make it flat and to make a neck between the head and the torso. And to the neck, I could also attach Linebeck's tie. ;o)

This way, it should be much easier to build, and still look good. ;o)

Stay tuned!

Linebeck papercraft WIP 3

I've been busy on other projects, but I also made some progress on Linebeck! ;o)

I've been working on putting the rest of his body in his artwork pose, instead of the standard "scarecrow" position.

The pose will probably be finetuned until the model is finished, but right now I'll start on making the "missing" parts: the neck and the shoulders.

They weren't needed in the virtual game world where bodyparts can just float in thin air, but for a papercraft model, you need a good way to connect the arms and the head of course. ;o)

Stay tuned!

Revamped Star Trek models

People have made repaints of my hand drawn papercraft Star Trek models before, and that's exactly what Paragon has done as well!

This time, Paragon has revamped not one but two of my hand drawn papercraft Star Trek models: the Danube-class runabout "Rubicon" and the U.S.S. Defiant's Type-10 shuttlecraft "Chaffee", both from the Deep Space Nine series.

You can download Paragon's revamped versions from his own website (including many other Star Trek and aircraft models) or from my own papercraft webpage, where you can also find the other Star Trek repaints.
Have fun building!

Linebeck's grin

Juggling between my Megatank and my Linebeck projects, I've been working on giving Linebeck his artwork grin (see here) instead of his neutral facial expression.
