  3. It looks way awesome :D
I'd like to know, how do you re-assemble all the little parts to make them all rounded and together? I have basically no idea what all those parts correspond to on the model, haha.

  4. well, the shield and the sword are quite obvious |:|

  5. They are, but I'm talking about those tiny pieces. I'm guessing some of those are from the face, fingers and hands... it's just interesting to see how they unfold, and how he'll re-assemble them to something more coherent.

  6. well, this was just a test to figure out the exact height of the complete model, so I can adjust the scale to that of ZaL.

I always break the model up in seperate files (legs, torso, head and so on) so that it becomes more bitesize. ;o)

And when I scale it up to the size it should be (not the 6,7 cm it is in the image ;o) the parts won't look so small anymore compared to the glueing tabs (by default, Pepakura cramps all the parts on one sheet making them very small...)

  9. Oh nice! I was planning on building Haywans version of this model sometime, but if you get this done, I may change my mind and try this one instead. Keep it up man!

  10. Haha I would feel really bad if I would stop it now, so I'm sure I'll finish it! ;o)

But did you want to build a lifesized Link? Because this one won't be, sorry...

This one will be about 24cm tall, just like ZaL, so if you want a really big Link, Haywan's version would be better for you I think.

  11. Life size? lol, nah, he had a 2ft model of Link over at the Nintendo forums, that was what I was aiming on building over the summer.

This model, the one you're working on, would be the perfect one to build during the coming holiday.

  12. I think it's pretty much the same as the lifesized version, only scaled down and unfolded differently to save trees (Greenpeace must hate us papercrafters...)

So it has the same amount of detail, and from your own models I thought you were kinda into that...?

But I'll just work hard to finish mine and then you can decide better which one you want to build, that's probably easier... ;o)

  13. uhh,Im, pretty shure greenpeace saves the Whales, right?

  14. nick, uhh,Im, pretty sure
    "shure" has no "h", right?

btw, the 3d model looks a lot better with the smile on it, ninjatoes! the original looks a bit too much like xandir from drawn together XD

  15. you think papercraft takes a lot of paper? 3d Modular origami takes about 5-7 pages of A4 paper to make a 12.5cm (5'') panda!

  16. Oh yeah, I'm very much into detailed models, however that Link model is actually more detailed compared to my Cloud model. I'm trying to take a break from building huge models.. lol

Anyway, don't try to work too hard now... still looking forward to how you tackle Sora for sure.

    Good luck.

  17. Haha, the whales, the rainforests, the world...

Greenpeace really needs a new PR campaign to raise awareness for all the work they do apparantly. ;o)

In the end, Greenpeace and all similar movements all try to save us humans (they just differ on their ideas on how to do it ;o)

  18. is links hair 3d or a flat piece of paper? it'll be slightly easyer if it is, but it wont have as good a finish

  19. Will the fingers be tiny separate pieces like ZaL because unlike some people, I loved making those fingers for ZaL. I was also under a time limit. Had a week to make ZaL. I want to enjoy Hero's Clothes Liink more, so thank you for making him.

PS: A good next model, if I haven't already told you, is Rundas from Metroid Prime 3.

  20. Yep, hero Link will have seperate fingers like ZaL.

I'm glad to hear you liked them, sometimes people are afraid they won't be able to make them, but it's a lot easier than they think if you use a toothpick to fold them around it first. ;o)

  21. The hair will be flat pieces of paper, glued together to create a 3D shape. ;o)

It won't have each individual "spike" of hair as a 3D shape though (that's what you mean I think?)

  22. @17cheese14: Ninjatoes said that he will make simply model next, so I don't think that makes next Rundas, sorry :)
