Most papercrafters know the paper toys that Shin Tanaka makes, but it seems he also made some paper planes for the Japanese Self Defense Force! (or one at least ;o)
Download + build your own chibi/super-deformed papercraft F-15 (by Shin Tanaka for Japan Self Defense Force Aomori Provincial Cooperation Office):

(download instructions: click the "F-15ペーパークラフト フリーダウンロード" link with the PDF icon under "DOWNLOAD CONTENTS" near the bottom of the page)
(old link: http://www.mod.go.jp/pco/aomori/)

I clicked on the link and I didn't see the download link nor the PDF file for it.
ReplyDeleteThe website has changed in the last 8 year, but if you use the Wayback Machine, you can still find a working download link: https://web.archive.org/web/20150219022401/http://www.mod.go.jp/pco/aomori/
DeleteI hope this helps, have fun building!
Could you please give me more specific instructions and the picture too?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what you mean: I can NOT give you "specific instructions and the picture too" for the papercraft itself because it's an old Japanese papercraft and of course I can't possibly do that for all the papercrafts in the world, that would take too much time for me...
DeleteBut maybe you mean whether I can give you some help just downloading the papercraft and what to do with papercrafts that have instructions in other languages? Well, you can go to the archived link I mention in the post above (https://web.archive.org/web/20150219022401/http://www.mod.go.jp/pco/aomori/ ) then you go to the archived website where you can scroll all the way at the botttom where there's a green text saying "DOWNLOAD CONTENTS" with some Japanese links under it. The first one seems to be a song but the second one is the F-15 papercraft (it says "F-15ペーパークラフト フリーダウンロード") that you can still download now! The picture for my post I took from the PDF papercraft file to show you what the F-15 papercraft will look like when it's finished. There are some Japanese instructions that you can translate by first convert the downloaded PDF file to a JPG file using https://smallpdf.com/pdf-to-jpg. Then you can upload the converted JPG file to https://openl.io/translate/image to have the text translated. I then find it easiest to print the translated text and try and match it to the PDF image. Of course you can also just try the papercraft out and see what cut lines (___) and fold lines (....) are and what areas are glue flaps are (the dotted areas I think but the translation will help you with that I think). Donm't forget you can just print another page if you mess up of course, I (often...) just have to do that sometimes too... ;o)
You can also see some more Japan Self Defense Force Aomori Provincial Cooperation Office papercrafts at the third "ペーパークラフト" button from the bottom right at the arhived page, but you can also just look at the live version at https://www.mod.go.jp/gsdf/fan/download/papercraft/. :o)
So I hope it helps you by just searching for free online tools like I always do! ;o) Have fun building!
Note: Scratch the last "translate using OpenL.io and print your translated text part and find where it belongs" part in the last comment! After you convert the PDF document to a JPG image, you can get the translations in the converted image itself using Google Translate: https://translate.google.com/?hl=nl&sl=auto&tl=en&op=images
DeleteThat's even more convenient I think! :o)
